Emotions are in motion
Emotions are amongst the most precious languages of the body. 🤍🦋🤍
.
For some reasons, there can be judgement or stigma (including our very own!) when we feel deeply an emotion, especially if this emotion is « labelled » as a so called « negative » emotion, as if it would be bad to hold an emotion.
.
Where does this belief come from I wonder?
.
How many times some of us (including me!) have heard that we were « too emotional »?
.
I never understood what this could actually mean to be too emotional. Would it be that we should then suppress one of the most incredible aspect of being human, which is to actually FEEL?
.
Some of us may have heard that we should not feel this or that, and that we should thicken our skins (I stopped counting the number of times I was given such useful advice)...Resulting probably to a disconnect between the feeling body and the thinking body, as if the latter had more weight in the dialogue of humanity.
.
Of course, it does mean that we should not use some kind of logical wisdom to know when, how & where to express or feel emotions (doing a tantrum at work may not be that helpful for example, though it would be a release at times!) but emotions are with us to be listened to.
.
Humanity was designed to FEEL. It is in our DNA.
.
Emotions are the unspoken words of the Body (in all its layers), and much wisdom & information can be revealed when we honour emotions instead of dismissing them.
.
Emotions are not meant to be stuck. They are meant to disclose a state of being at a given time and then move on. This requires, however, that we give ourselves the permission to feel what seem to happen now & here. When we can drop the veil that covers what we are not, the authentic in us, in this moment, can be fully embraced. There is immense truth in this honouring.
.
How amazing it is when we stop pretending?
.
Emotions will move on when the essence of their messages are heard and integrated.
.
Emotions are in-motion.
.
Of course, this does not mean that we should dismiss our beautiful thinking minds but this is, I suppose, about finding a balanced dialogue between the body mind & the feeling body.
.
How to embody an emotion then?
.
Step 1: Connect emotions to a felt body sense.
Step 2: Honor & support the body-centered emotion.
Step 3: Listen to what pain or wound is being held in the body.
.
And FEEL, for a second, without trying to understand what, why, and how...Allow yourself to breathe into the feeling, as long as required.
.
Emotions are not bad or good, they are, and so is your Humanity.
.
Feeling deeply,
Yours. 🤍🦋🤍
