Home

They say: « Make your body your home »...
I say: ok but how??? It is like when you hear your yoga teacher tells you « relax »...I always find this so pointless if you do not suggest ways to get there 🤔 and I wish to say instead: « Allow your body to carry you into a place where you could feel home, whatever home means for you, at least for a while»...

That’s how it works, nothing is ever permanent, even the concept of « Home ». I do not think we have one Home, we have several anchor points (another way to call our homes?) and some of them will likely change during our lifetime.

The concept of « Home » has always been tricky for me, as rather nomadic since a young age and I have had to dwell into parts of me to feel home as the more « material » or « visible » home was not too present.
It really seems that the concept of Home is always changing....We may feel the greatest at a certain place and no longer feel good there and same goes with our body....There are moments we feel wonderful and feeling vibrant & radiant and there are moments we just feel terrible, longing for the moments of full comfort & inner peace we once felt.
This year and in fact the last two years I have personally been challenged in my areas of comfort where I always felt the greatest and suddenly those exact same places are a source of panic. Go wonder...go & wonder where comfort meets discomfort and it could well be the same thing at the end...a humble call not to take anything for granted & listen carefully to the messages of the body. Our body will meet us in our place of comfort to shake things up if there is a soul based need to do that but it still does not come from the mind.

So what is « Home » for you? Where/What is it?

The mind is a tricker. It can be a pusher and not always an « allower » (I have here to invent new words)...

Phrases like « you choose your home », « home is where your heart is », etc... have become another trick of the mind for me, a feeling avoidant and honestly I now find those words boring & over simplistic as they imply that we just decide to feel something or not to feel anything...But, it does not work like that....we do not choose our feelings, they are, they just are.

I would rather suggest, learning from experience that the only « knower » or « feeler » will always be our body...without the agenda of the mind...
We have to listen and trust.
The more we listen, the more we hear.

Despite all my attempts to say « you should feel that or that » it just does not work...The power of the mind fanatics may argue with me here and I stand grounded in my own experience as the only thing I know at the end: the Body is the Knower and is the Allower for Life to be free to be what is.

What would it take for me, for you, to find helpful anchor points to help our life journey of the NOW? Not yesterday or tomorrow, Now. Where is it in your body today? Can you connect to that?
What would be the one thing your body would love today? A walk, a special dish, a yoga posture, a Netflix série, a bath...? Could you give it to yourself? Could you allow your body to reassure you, to carry you, to hold you to a feeling of being YOU?

And what if, Home was just about being YOU today?

If you are interested in this exploration of being YOU and feeling the home in you, meet me (and you!) for a special Yoga & Somatics class this coming Saturday at 12:00 noon Geneva time...as part of the @geneva_yoga_festival.

With all the 💛✨
