My new skin, my new website!

So, here I am, with a new iteration of myself, an enhanced authentic expression of who I am and what my yoga offerings are heading to.

I am ready to unfold to that new version of myself, rooting my trust as I write those words, in the sense that there is deep truth in what I would like to continue exploring for myself and facilitating for others. I am now ready to offer the fruits of those last few years of contemplations and gestation, birthing again and again on this path towards Mukti, Liberation. By “liberation”, we mean, giving slowly more permission to be oneself in the full auspiciousness of our Nature.

So, I reveal a new yoga website, with the hope that it will reflect well what I feel deeply in my inner landscape. I give thanks to my previous yoga website, as it served me in many ways and was an important marker on my teaching path.

I feel that I have been peeling layers of what I thought was myself, and even what I thought was Yoga, peeling off external conditioning and expectations to be replaced with my own sensations and intuitions. With the magic facilitation by wonderful teachers, I have been slowly able in the last few years to feel and fine tune my understanding of Yoga, my personal doorway for the studying of the Self, and therefore Life. Wonderful break through and revelations keep taking place.

Few months ago, in a beautiful Embodied Flow training, we were asked to draw a visualization board expressing something dear to us from our explorations of the moment. As I write this blog, I remember what I had built: a plane paper, colourful, with structures, symmetrical but also uneven, with pictures, words…remembering the nature of Life. We all go through transformation, whether we want it or not. In the yoga tradition, we have five main axes or stages of Life. For us all, life creates, life helps sustain what we have created until it gets destroyed or changed leading to discomfort, contracting or concealment, until comes a revelation (and somehow a sense of liberation). And that cycle of Life is forever infinite.

Yes, transformation happens, whether we want or not, like it or not. It happens anyway. But, we can choose to transform in a more mindful way, bringing more consciousness into our actions, our thoughts and on our yoga mat.

So yes, here is my new yoga website, and I truly hope you will like it.

It is a yoga website without many yoga postures, as I wanted to focus on the sensations of a posture. The study of asana is never about mastering a posture. It is about using posture to understand and transform oneself. As my dear friend Gloria (Thank you Gloria) writes: “a pose is just an empty vessel until you fill it with your unique essence. It is you who brings a meaning into every shape, your own sweet expression into each pose, into each movement, each action”.

I could not resonate more with those words. In my yoga offerings, you will not necessarily learn or do fancy poses nor will I place myself in the traditional role of a teacher, as like you, I am exploring, continuously. In my yoga offerings, I will however, be your space holder, I will aim at creating the space to give you the confidence to look inside and trust your (inner) movements, and together, we will explore.

Thank you, immensely for welcoming my new website, my new skin, at least for now.

With love, maeva.
